Manchester United 0-2 Manchester City | Carabao Cup Semi-Final | Player Ratings

Dean Henderson: 6

Wasn’t to blame for any of the goals conceded, used his best efforts to keep United in the game with some improper at saves but it wasn’t meant to be.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 6

The right-back handled his one-on-one dual against Phil Foden brilliantly, barely giving the midfielder a sniff on City’s left hand side.

Victor Lindelof: 5

Could be argued to blame for both City goals as he failed to stop the first cross and for the second could have made up the distance to stop the goal. A decision Eric Bailly makes in a heartbeat.

Harry Maguire: 6

A solid and dominant showing for the club captain. Along the floor he was quick to tidy up the loose balls around the penalty area. Like Lindelof, Maguire should’ve prevented the opener but his overall game was positive.

Luke Shaw: 6

Some lazy positioning allowed John Stones to get the run in the front post for the first goal. However, he did show some of the real fight in United’s team.

Scott McTominay: 4

Failed to get to grips with City’s dynamic midfield which allowed pressure on United’s back four.

Fred: 5

Failed to get into the game for United both defensively and offensively. The Brazilian’s energy that he’s displayed over recent weeks looked spent.

Bruno Fernandes: 4

A really poor night for Bruno Fernandes who didn’t turn up. Poor passing decisions encapsulates the midfielders performance who was extremely sloppy and didn’t influence the game in the slightest.

Paul Pogba: 6

A lot of effort in his performance but just lacked final third quality at times.

Anthony Martial: 6

The Frenchman was starved of any quality service and therefore didn’t manage to get on the end of real opportunities to win the game for the Reds.

Marcus Rashford: 6

Got in behind City’s defence a number of times and was United’s only real threat with long passes. Bad timing and bad finishing meant that he also failed to put United ahead.

Mason Greenwood: 6

Donny van de Beek: n/a
