Manchester City 0-2 Manchester United | Premier League | Player Ratings
Dean Henderson: 8
A huge performance in his first league Derby start. Henderson is said to have the personality for the number one shirt and he showed it. The Englishman commanded his box on corners and also played a hand in creating the second goal. He also got a clean sheet to boot, top performance.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 7
The key battle in recent Manchester Derby’s is Raheem Sterling vs Wan-Bissaka, and once again the latter came out with a big performance. Sterling did very little when faced one on one with the right back.
Victor Lindelof: 5
Lindelof’s performance did ring some alarm bells due to the Swede’s shakiness. He found himself losing his marked man on a number of occasions. Had it not been for Sterling’s woeful finishing Lindelof would have been embarrassed as he slipped in the box allowing the forward an open header.
Harry Maguire: 7
A dominant performance at the back from United’s captain seemed to win every ball in the air and marshalled his defence all the way to a clean sheet against the best side in the league.Embed from Getty Images
Luke Shaw: 9
A man of the match showing from the Left back. In all areas both defensively and going forward. He played a huge role in our creative play with his driving forward runs, one even resulted in a goal.
Scott McTominay: 6
A decent game in the midfield from McTominay. Played a big role in getting the ball from back to front quickly by taking the ball off the defence and playing forward passes.
Fred’s performance was a little disappointing. The Midfielder did some good things by pressing and winning the ball back with niggling tackles. However, his quality in possession was poor once again.Embed from Getty Images
Bruno Fernandes: 7
Would’ve been surprised to get a penalty early on but he took it and slotted it away. Away from the goal, he got involved in some positive interplay around the opposition area.
Marcus Rashford: 6
Rashford’s constant directness meant United were always a threat on the counter. He had a couple of opportunities to get on the scoresheet himself but didn’t take them. The forward did however manage an assist for Shaw’s goal.Embed from Getty Images
Anthony Martial: 8
Everything but an assist from the Frenchman. From the get-go his intent was there, winning the penalty early on. His desire added to his strength when holding up play and bringing others into the game which is crucial against City.
Daniel James: 6
A lot of positive running from Daniel James provided a real threatening outlet for United on the right-hand side.
Mason Greenwood: 5
Brandon Williams: n/a
Nemanja Matic: n/a
