Bruno Fernandes ‘sad and disappointed’ after fourth semi-final defeat under Solskjaer
Manchester United’s talisman, Bruno Fernandes, has said that he is ‘sad and disappointed’ after United’s Carabao Cup exit against rivals, City, and has warned United they have to learn ahead of FA Cup run.
Manchester United were defeated by City in the semi-final of the Carabao cup, with the Red Devils outplayed throughout.
Following this disappointment, United will be hoping to bounce back in the FA Cup, when they face Watford on Saturday.
On Thursday evening, Bruno Fernandes, took to Instagram, to express his disappointment and to urge his teammates to learn from their mistakes.
I’m very sad and disappointed to once again don’t reach a final,’ he wrote on Instagram after breaking his silence.
‘We have a lot to fight yet but we have to learn and understand that we can’t make the same mistakes anymore.
‘We need to make an effort to further improve and be able to fight for trophies!’
Fernandes came under criticism for his performance by fans and United great, Roy Keane, who said on Sky Sports, that Fernandes cannot be compared with Cantonna until he starts winning trophies with the club.
‘It’s not easy winning football trophies. Fernandes has had great praise for the last few months and people have been comparing him to [Eric] Cantona etc. Fernandes didn’t really do much tonight,’ said the former United midfielder.

‘They probably need one or two more players to come into this squad, no doubt, and they need the mentality and confidence of winning a semi-final to get them over the line.
United host Watford at 3:00 on Saturday in the FA Cup Third Round.
