Carabao Cup Preview : Manchester United VS Rochdale
Manchester United begin their cup run this week against league 1 side Rochdale.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will host close neighbours as they look to redeem themselves after a woeful showing at the London Stadium. Back in the comfort blanket of Old Trafford, Ole will be looking to set his team on a trail to compete for the first bit of silverware up for grabs domestically.
Manchester United have met Rochdale just once before in the 1986 FA Cup 3rd round. Frank Stapleton and Mark Hughes scored the goals that day.
In tomorrows game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood are in contention to feature. Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly are all out due to injury.

The key man for Rochdale is their top goalscorer and the man wearing the Armband Ian Henderson who has scored 4 goals this season in blue. Their key creator is Rochdale’s attacking midfielder Callum Camps who leads on assists with 4 in all competitions. Oh, how we could do with an attacking midfielder……
Despite Manchester United’s poor form recently, we are much the superior side. Especially with the home advantage, if Manchester United don’t win tomorrow night, serious questions must be asked of the manager. That being said, I trust that the youth will play and hopefully put out a performance worthy of the shirt.
