Fa Cup Preview : Manchester United vs Wolves (R)

Here we go again with a team we should have put away the first time, with Wolves’ highly-rated squad never an easy prospect this… should be an absolutely amazing game.

How Do Manchester United look?

Ole during his Press Conference stated there will be no players returning from injury so a high chance of an unchanged eleven from the weekend with Norwich, with Pogba, Mctominay, and Shaw on the injury
list it looks like Williams, Fred, and Andreas retaining their places.
The fact Eric Bailly played an under 23 game earlier in the week and a behind closed doors game earlier today says to me we may see him make an appearance. Ole did mention that “The Golden Boy” Marcus Rashford may be rested due to a slight knock he picked up at the weekend win.

@goldengoatsfanpage did me the pleasure of answering some questions ahead of the 3rd round replay!

Wolves have had a jam-packed schedule this season, a replay surely can’t have been what you needed, surely?

As it has already been highlighted Wolves have had the busiest game schedule in the premier league, with our small squad I feel the replay will drag the squad back a step tiring us out for our next game. Now that Patrick Cutrone has left the club, and Jota is out with injury we have no restroom upfront for Raul to come off with the confidence of a reliable player replacing him forcing us to wear him out. If I was in Nuno’s feet I would simply drop out of the cup and focus on the Europa League in February.

Will Nuno be sticking around, Could he end up in the United dugout?

Personally I do not think Nuno will leave the club as what he has here is perfect for him. He has built the team from the championship and is comfortably leading us into a good Europa league run all whilst sitting comfortably in 7th place. That’s why I feel he will push on and not leave the club until he has won a trophy in the top flight with the club.  If he could do this for wolves he would prove his managing quality and that’s when I would be happy to let him go and move on to other clubs.

Prediction for the replay?

In the 3rd round replay at Old Trafford, I think the scales will be 2-1 to Wolves with Adama and Doherty scoring for wolves.

In all honesty, this should be an easy win for us. but Wolves are a different animal of late and shouldn’t be underestimated. Nuno has done a wonderful job at Wolves and has shown many managers a masterclass home and away. If we play the way we can this should be a f!$%@$ cakewalk (Maybe).
