Man United bid £27 million for Costa
Manchester United have reportedly bid £27 million for Juventus’s Brazilian winger, Douglas Costa. Costa, 29, was recently identified by United as a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho as The Red Devils look to bolster their attack for next season.
Juventus are willing to let Costa go this transfer window as new manager; Andrea Pirlo looks to address the Italian side’s crippling wage bill. However, Juventus would like to receive a fee near the amount that they signed the Brazilian for (38 million).
Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport reported this morning that United had bid for the 29-year-old as United Chiefs test Juventus’s resolve.
With 21 days to go until the season starts, this is United’s first official move for a winger in the transfer market following their failure to meet Dortmund’s Sancho deadline.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to value the pacey winger and feels the 29-year-old will add a new dimension to Man United’s attack.
