Manchester United Offer Fosu-Mensah New Contract
Manchester United have offered a new contract to Timothy Fosu Mensah according to the MEN.
The 22-year-olds current contract is set to expire in June 2021. However, reports claim that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed a desire to keep him at the club.
The versatile Dutchman has played a bit-part role at Manchester United since returning in 2019 from a loan at Fulham. His days seemed to be numbered as injuries rendered a chance of him establishing a place in the united squad impossible.
Fosu-Mensah did however profit from an unprecedented end to the 19/20 season as the full-back featured for United for the first time in 3 years at former loan club Crystal Palace.
This season, the academy graduate has found himself on the fringes again only making two appearances; The first on the opening day, in the defeat against Palace and a cameo in Istanbul against Basaksehir.
Perhaps the new contract offer is a signal that Timothy Fosu-Mensah is being offered a greater role at the club. If this isn’t the case the new deal will be used to maintain his value for potential suitors.
