Manchester United remain interested in Rasmus Højlund as talks continue

Manchester United’s attention will now turn to securing a new striker after announcing Mason Mount’s signature and edging closer to signing Andre Onana. The Reds have levelled up their pursuit of Rasmus Højlund and remain keen on negotiating an appropriate fee.
United have shown a level of efficiency in this summer transfer window thus far. However it still remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are finished with their business or not.
Boss Erik ten Hag prioritised a striker on the shortlist of summer targets as his rebuild continues, especially when there are limited options and a lack of quality in the forward positions, with Anthony Martial his only recognised out and out no.9.
According to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, United’s director of football John Murtough is holding ‘extensive talks’ with Serie A side Atalanta over a possible deal for Danish striker Rasmus Højlund.
Ten Hag’s agency SEG, is also attempting to help the 20 year old to engineer a transfer to Manchester United.
Despite his age, Højlund has shown great promise contributing to 10 goals and four assists in his debut season. Alongside United’s very own Christian Eriksen for Denmark, Højlund leading the Euro 2024 goalscoring charts with six goals in four games.
