Manchester United Sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Manchester United have confirmed the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a 4-1 defeat at Watford.
The ex-United striker returned from the international break hoping to turn the Reds’ fortunes after an awful run of results.
Batterings at the hands of bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester City cast major doubts over the Norwegian ability to take United to the next step and challenge for the title. Despite being backed in the summer by the club’s hierarchy with a new contract, Solskjaer has failed to get a tune of his side while integrating his new players.

A thoroughly underwhelming display against relegation-pipped Watford sealed Solskjaer’s fate. Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes all to the field at Vicarage Road and failed to muster a performance.
Ironically, Donny van de Beek was the man to score in Solskjaer’s final game in charge, bringing the Norwegian’s time at the club to a poetic end.
Michael Carrick is set to stand in as the club search for an interim to get the club to the end of the season as they search for a new manager begins.
