Manchester United have submitted an initial bid to acquire the services of Jadon Sancho after reportedly agreeing personal terms with the winger.

According to German outlet BILD, United have initiated contact with Borrusia Dortmund over the transfer of Sancho. It is suggested the Reds have submitted a bid of €70m but the fee is considered to be too low by those in Dortmund. Reports suggest that BVB will be looking for a fee closer to €90m with additional bonuses.

Despite the report dampening the likelihood of an imminent deal, prior to the European Championships, there will be a sense of cautious optimism a deal will be agreed upon amongst the Old Trafford Faithful who have been waiting for the deal for well over a year.

Last July the London-born winger was heavily linked with a return to Manchester and in spite of the fact all indications pointed to Sancho ending up in a red shirt, the lack of agreement between the clubs saw him stay at Dortmund for an additional season.

Now with the England National team squad, looking forward to the Euros, Sancho has enjoyed another good season in Germany. The 21-year-old managed 16 goals and 20 assists in what began as a difficult season.

There is no doubting Sancho’s quality and how much it would bolster United’s squad. But as always with a Manchester United transfer saga, one would imagine there are many more twists to this tale before anything is achieved officially.
