Manchester United Youngster Joins Caen On Loan

Manchester United’s 19-year-old Frenchman, Traore has completed a season-long loan deal to Ligue 2 side, Caen. Both sides have confirmed the deal and the youngster can start training with the French side from today.
Aliou Traore is a versatile midfielder that can play in a central role or in a wide position. Traore signed for United in 2017 from Paris Saint-Germain and has impressed playing for the Under-23 side. Last season, Traore scored 4 goals in 14 appearances, as the U23 side gained promotion.
Traore recently spoke out to the French media about his desire to play more senior football, with the 19-year-old telling RMC sport, “I would like to start as a pro, Like I said, I think I have the baggage to do it. I hope it will be in Manchester, otherwise why not go and find playing time elsewhere. I only have one year of contract left so yes, I’m not closing the door. But if I’m leaving, it’s for a professional group. I need an evolution in my progression and that goes through a professional workforce.”
Caen, up until recently were established in France’s topflight but were relegated in 2018/19 and finished in a mid-table position last season. Caen’s manager Pascal Dupraz will be hoping that Traore can help guide them to promotion.
Traore becomes the second young player to leave Manchester United on loan in as many days, with Tahith Chong, yesterday agreeing a 10-month loan deal with German side, Werder Bremen. Excellent business for all of those concerned, with United hoping for the two youngsters to gain lots of first team experience before returning to the club.
