Mason Greenwood Makes Golden Boy 20-Man Shortlist
Mason Greenwood is Manchester United’s only representative one 2020’s Tuttosport Golden Boy award.
The prestigious award is voted for by journalists and is given to the U21 player who’s been the most impressive over the calendar year. Nominations only apply to individuals under 21 years of age who play in their European nations top tier.
Greenwood impressed in his breakout season for Manchester United. The 19-year-old featured 49 times in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side last season in all competition, scoring 17 and assisting 5. His contributions to Manchester United’s season saw the club reach 3 semifinals including a Europa League semi final which he started in.
His performances caught the eye of National team manager Southgate who awarded the English man his international debut in September vs Iceland at 18 years old.
Mason Greenwood isn’t without competition for the award with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Alphonso Davies all having big claims for the award.
