Mason Greenwood has just experienced an incredible breakthrough season with Manchester United, as he proved himself as one of the most exciting young players in the world.

Greenwood scored his first senior goal for United in a 4-0 preseason friendly win over Leeds, Greenwood went on to net also against Inter Milan, with manager, Solskjaer describing him as the best finisher at the club. But it was not until December, that Solskjaer handed the Yorkshireman his first premier league start and after that the Norwegian found it difficult to leave out Greenwood, who became the first 18-year-old since Michael Owen to score ten goals in a premier league season.

Now, fans and pundits alike are backing Greenwood to follow in Owen’s footsteps for England and to burst onto the international scene.

It is also a big call by Southgate to include Maguire in his squad, as the future of the 27-year-old’s future is uncertain, following his arrest on the Greek island of Mykonos.

Dean Henderson, who is set to challenge De Gea for the No.1 shirt at United next season, has also been selected following his impressive season on loan at Sheffield United.
