The long wait is over. 99 days since our eyes were made witness to Manchester United playing the beautiful game. While a football match without fans sounds bland, Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United has all the ingredients to be a tasty matchup.

How Do Manchester United look?

On a usual occasion you would hate to take any sort of positive from a situation where many lives have been lost due to a pandemic. However, the League’s long suspension has meant there are big names back in contention for United.

Marcus Rashford’s back injury would’ve likely seen him miss the rest of the season and probably the Euros. However, during lockdown, in addition to his exploits to help vulnerable children around Britain, he’s managed to build his fitness to prepare him for project restart. Paul Pogba is another that has had time to recuperate his fitness during the break making him a further asset in United’s bid to finish in the Champions League places.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed in his Press Conference which was done virtually, that the only absentees for the trip to London are Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones. No news there then…

Over the years Spurs vs Manchester United has always been a game to look out for secondary to bouts against Liverpool Arsenal City and Chelsea. However, since the arrival of Jose Mourinho to north london, the red devils vs the lily whites is much more of a spectacle.

Jose Mourinho has been stoking the fires of this match by reportedly telling those close to him that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is out of his depth. Whether he has a point or not, Ole will be doubly inspired to pull of the double against Jose.

When the two sides last met, the plot was that of a movie. Mourinho sacked by Manchester United, back at Old Trafford to face the rookie that replaced him. All eyes were on the likes of Marcus Rashford, who for many wasn’t treated the best by Portuguese during his tenure. Rashford was evidently motivated by the occasion, looking like a man possessed. The 22-year-old bagged 2 goals and was unlucky not to have taken the match ball home as United beat Jose’s Tottenham 2-1. Something tells me Mourinho will be desperate not to allow that to happen again.

Tottenham Hotspur have lost their two Premier League games against Manchester United.

Manchester United are looking to record consecutive away wins in the Premier League against spurs for the first time since a run of 6 in a row between Sep 2001 and Feb 2007.

Manchester United are unbeaten in 5 Premier League games, winning 3 and drawing 2, keeping 4 clean sheets during that run.

No side in the Premier League has kept fewer clean sheets than Tottenham Hotspur this season (4).

With the likes of Bruno in midfield linking up with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, there are no limits in what can be achieved. For the first time post Fergie, we have an array of top class payers who also perform. I also think thesse performances will manifest into a much needed result. 2-1 Manchester United with the reds coming back after conceding early. Mark my words.
