So Derby day has arrived and it just happens to be Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s 50th game in charge.

Ole also had a chance to do a league double over Pep Guardiola becoming the first manager to do so since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Ole brought his strongest eleven for the derby having rest key players for the mid-week tie with Derby County, with starters Anthony Martial, Daniel James, Harry Maguire, Arron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams and David De Gea Returning With Luke Shaw slotting into a back Three having recently had a good run of form.

The first few minutes were all Manchester City until a bad back pass from Zinchenko sent Martial through only for him to spurn the opening chance. City were controlling the game but with no end products, only Raheem Sterling testing De Gea in the United goal. Sergio Aguero had a break in the box, but poor control sent the ball out.

Daniel James had a chance on the quarter of an hour mark when Bruno Fernandes sent him through with a lovely pass only for James to smash it straight at Ederson in the City goal having also returned after a midweek break.

Raheem Sterling was trying his best but again Arron Wan-Bissaka had him controlled all Afternoon.

On 23 minutes Otamendi brought Daniel James down just outside the box for nothing sadly come of it.

Martial had a clear-cut chance when set free in the box and should have squared it to a waiting Bruno Fernandes but decided to have a shot straight at Ederson.

After the pressure on the last 10 minutes, Fernandinho brought Bruno down about 10 yards outside the box receiving a yellow card for it. Bruno quickly chipped the ball over a waiting Martial’s shoulder who calmly volleyed into the bottom left corner pasta sprawling Ederson.

United a few chances before the end of the half and a clear cut penalty shout.

Fred who continued his brilliant form when Otamendi Brought him down in the box only for him to get booked for simulation.

The second half started with City asserting the same pressure as the first half when they enjoyed 70% of possession at times. This pressure put the ball in De Gea’s goal on 48 minutes for VAR to disallow it for offside.

On 49mins Ederson received another back pass only to mis control and only just stop a flying Anthony Martial from doubling United’s lead, Anthony Martial collided with the post and was down for several minutes.

United were stepping up their control again and again attacking and all the time soaking up whatever City could through at them, Pep looked Bereft of idea’s as he made his subs

 On 69 minutes Daniel James was sent clear shooting at by Fernandes for him to be pushed wide and instead of squaring into a waiting Bruno Fernandes he shot straight at a waiting Ederson.

On 75 minutes Sterling had a chance only for Maguire to take it from him at the last moment.

United remained solid for the remainder of the second half with Ole making his final change on

On 96 minutes Ederson under pressure again when receieving a back pass he fired a clearance straight  to Scott Mctominey who could believe his luck when he sent a long range shot straight in to a gapping empty net

Man of the Match: Arron Wan-Bissaka: stopped Sterling all Match Nullifying City attack and virtually killing Pep’s game plan.
