Manchester United sit just 2 points above the relegation zone after losing 1-0 on the road to a struggling Newcastle United side.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made 3 changes to the side that played Arsenal last time out in the league. Fred and Mata came into the midfield with Diogo Dalot replacing an injured Victor Lindelof.

The first half began with a rampant Newcastle passing the ball with a high tempo. Manchester United, coming out the blocks were not great as they lacked composure and the ability to maintain possession. As per the rhetoric this season, Manchester United failed to create any clear cut chances on goal in open play. The biggest chance for United came as a result of a corner, which was well set up for a Maguire special, which went wide of the net from 5 yards out. You know confidence is low when old Slabhead is missing sitters with his head.
