Norwich City linked with United full-back
Several recent reports have suggested that Manchester United academy prospect, Brandon Williams, has held positive talks with the recently promoted East-Anglian side Norwich City.
Following a difficult 2020/21 season for the English full-back- due to his lack of game time- both Manchester United and Williams seem to agree that a loan move will be beneficial for the progression of the 20-year-old’s career.
Williams, who joined United aged seven, was exhibiting promising signs during the 2019/20 season, enjoying regular first-team football as the red devil’s left-back. However, with the return to an unstoppable form demonstrated by England international Luke Shaw, Williams’ path to continued first-team football experience was inherently blocked.

However, with reports of Manchester United demanding a £2m loan fee for Williams’ services, previously held talks with Southampton appear to have fallen through.
Norwich manager, Daniel Farke, seems to hold Williams in high regard; seeing him as a fantastic addition to Norwich’s squad, providing competition for the likes of the talented prospect Max Aarons at right-back, who has been linked to several high-profile clubs over the last year, such as Barcelona, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

It will provide Williams with the opportunity to play regular Premier League football in anticipation of, and preparation for, an eventual return to United’s squad. Additionally, it will assist Manchester United in the development of their highly touted young star. The deal also has the potential to introduce another quality, rising player to Norwich’s ranks- in addition to the likes of Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons.
As the August 30th transfer window deadline nears closer, this deal is likely to be completed soon and will provide Brandon Williams with the perfect platform from which he can showcase his talents in a bid to impress Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer, and hopefully return to Manchester United as an improved player, ready to fight for his first-team spot once again.
