Player Ratings: Bayern Munich 4-3 Manchester United

Manchester United have been beaten by Bayern Munich 4-3 away at the Allianz Arena, continuing their poor away form this time extending that to the Champions League. The loss means that United start off their European campaign bottom of the group ahead of their next game against FC Copenhagen.
The game itself was pretty evenly matched for the first 20 minutes until a mistake from Andre Onana left United 1-0 and then some silky dribbling by Jamal Musiala who passed to an open Serge Gnabry who put Bayern 2-0 up and after that United were chasing the game for the rest of the 90. The 4-3 scoreline in the end massively flattered the Reds.
Here’s a rundown on how the players performed in the game with each player receiving a rating out of 10.
Goalkeeper and Defence
Andre Onana: 4
Made some decent saves throughout the game but his mistake that let Bayern score first resulted in a winded United who ended up chasing the game from then.
Diogo Dalot: 5
A poor performance from the Portuguese right back, was pretty ineffective, gave the ball away too many times and was largely at fault for the second goal.
Victor Lindelof: 5
Lindelof was poor again in the match, was physically outmatched and was poor in carrying the ball forward.
Lisandro Martinez: 6
Probably United’s best defender, made some good clearances and was good on the ball and going forward but was unable to help keep the scoreline down.
Sergio Regulion: 6
Made some good runs forward and was unlucky not to have players anticipate his crosses but was also shown up defensively, often getting dropped but not a terrible performance.
Midfield
Eriksen: 3
Eriksen was simply bad against Bayern. He didn’t have the intensity for a agame of this magnitude, was unlucky to give the penalty away but was at fault for the corner that led to it and also didn’t track Gnabry for the second goal which was a simple cutback.
Casemiro: 6
Casemiro was another inconsistent performer today. Did well to get his brace late on but his declining physical presence was on full display, too late with tracking runners and attempting tackles, inconsistent with his passing and read the game poorly.
Bruno Fernandes: 5
Bruno was anonymous, a poor showing from the United captain. Got his assist for the third goal but the rest of the game showed his ineffectiveness. Wasn’t able to make any meaningful decisive passes and gave the ball away under no pressure for the 4th Bayern goal.
Attack
Facundo Pellistri: 5
Had a half chance to score early on and had trouble going against Alphonso Davies and Kim Min Jae but some positive signs for the youngster.
Marcus Rashford: 6
Not a terrible performance from Rashford today who made some good runs forward and was looking to create chances but as the United talisman he needed to do a bit more.
Rasmus Hojlund: 6.5
Hojlund did well to get his debut goal and had good movement but was unable to do more for the team but good signs on his second start for the club.
Substitutes
Scott McTominay: 5
Antony Martial: 6.5
Alejandro Garnacho: 5
