Player Ratings: Burnley 0-1 Manchester United
Manchester United have beaten Burnley 1-0 away at Turf Moor, ending their streak of 3 losses on the bounce. The win helps United gain some momentum going into their next run of games, despite the fact the performance itself was shaky. With Crystal Place in the EFL Cup on Tuesday United can now build on this win as they try and bounce back from their underwhelming start to the season. The two teams were ultimately separated by a first half volley from Bruno Fernandes.
Here’s a rundown on how the players performed in the game with each player receiving a rating out of 10.
Goalkeeper and Defence
Andre Onana: 6
Made some good saves in the game and was calm on the ball as always, alleviating some of the pressure from Burnley’s press.
Diogo Dalot: 5.5
A quiet performance from Dalot, while he did grow into the game he failed to make his mark as there were a couple instances where Burnley attackers got the better of him.
Victor Lindelof: 5.5
Partnered up well with Evans despite some shaky moments in the game, not the best performance Lindelof has had but he held his own.
Johnny Evans: 7
United’s best defender, unlucky to have his goal disallowed but played a brilliant over the top ball for Bruno’s strike. Was calm on the ball, helping United take the ball forward when they did.
Sergio Regulion: 5.5
A slight downgrade from his first few performances for the Red Devils, was less effective going forward but was decent defensively.
Midfield
Scott McTominay: 5
Was largely anonymous this game, didn’t show for the ball as much as he should have which meant United weren’t able to progress the ball as fast as they maybe desired. Needs to do more.
Casemiro: 7
Casemiro had his best performance so far this season, was a lot better on the ball and with his passing and his defensive awareness was much better, reading opposition passes and runs well and making the right tackles and interceptions at the right time.
Bruno Fernandes: 7
Scored the game winner with a fantastic first time finish on the volley but was rash in his passing, needs to improve those areas of his game but when scoring the winner there wasn’t a lot more to ask of him on the night.
Hannibal Mejbri: 7
Showed great worked rate and his intensity lasted for most of the game , positive signs from the youngster.
Attack
Marcus Rashford: 5.5
Rashford was decent in the game, trying to find Hojlund quite a bit and looking to create. Seemed like he lost a bit of his shooting instinct this game as he had a few opportunities to shoot but opted to pass instead. A forgettable performance overall
Rasmus Hojlund: 5
Hojlund was poor, his link up play and passing wasn’t the best and was stifled by the Burnley defenders. A reminder that he is still a raw talent.

Raphael Varane: 6
