Player Ratings: Fulham 1-2 Manchester United

Fulham 1-2 Manchester United | Premier League | Player Ratings
David de Gea: 7
The Spaniards busiest night in recent weeks, and he was more than up for the challenge making a crucial save to maintain United’s lead.
Defence
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 4
A mixed night for Manchester United’s right-back. Although in the first half, there was a lot of effort in his attacking play he failed to put in the perfect ball for the likes of Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial to meet. Wan-Bissaka was also asleep for Fulham’s goal, keeping goal scorer Ademola Lookman onside.

Bailly has a slightly shaky return to the starting 11 and barring a few concerning instances like a soft back pass to De Gea the Ivorian had a solid performance.
Harry Maguire: 6
The skipper got involved in some build-up play just as the high line United played allowed. A strong showing at the back.
Luke Shaw: 7
Shaw continued his recent form with another rounded performance. Up and down all night, Shaw showed once again how much of a strong runner he is. The left-back also showed his set-piece prowess with some great deliveries into the box.
Midfield
Fred: 6
While he coasted in the first half as United dominated the ball, Fred struggled with the willing runners Fulham had at their disposal in the second. The Brazilian struggled with the athleticism of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who ran him rugged towards the end of the game.

Big moments require big players and once again Paul Pogba did the business. Playing deeper than he did against Liverpool, Pogba was getting on the ball more allowing him to influence the game better. His winning goal, the left-footed finish was a sensational one to top off another positive evening for the World Cup winner.
Bruno Fernandes: 7
Fernandes needed to bounce back quickly after an evening to forget on Merseyside. The Portuguese midfielder drifted through Fulham’s defensive lines and created United’s equaliser with some great interplay and a cross into the danger zone for Cavani to slot away after the ball rebounded off Alphonse Areola.
Attack
Anthony Martial: 6
Martial on the left, like the rest of the team, looked as if he had a few more gears to go up. An average performance by his usual standards.
Edinson Cavani: 8
A performance encapsulated by work rate, desire and mature instincts. Cavani took his goal well to put United back in the game but his night didn’t stop there. The Uruguayan was a nuisance for the Fulham with his relentless willingness to make runs. On the night his efforts were rewarded with one goal but should he continue playing this way more goals will soon follow.

Another night where Greenwood struggled to get involved in the game. His performance wasn’t helped by the fact that Wan-Bissaka has a night to forget but Greenwood just lacked his usual directness in his play.
