Manchester United claim victory in a thrilling encounter against bitter rivals Leeds United.

United of Manchester started the game on the front foot but the underlying feeling of anything being possible at a wet Elland Road was felt by anyone lucky to watch the game. The unthinkable happened just after the half an hour mark where the Reds converted from a corner. For the first time, this season Harry Maguire was able to get on the end of a set-piece and score. That deserved accolades in itself as the embarrassing stat has been quashed after 138 attempts.

United’s second came as the caverns of space allowed an eager Victor Lindelof a run at the Leeds defence and find Sancho who floated the ball into Bruno Fernandes for the second. United went into the break 2-0 to the good but eight minutes into the second the score was 2-2. However, Ralf Rangnick made a couple of changes with the two substitutes scoring to win United the game. Manchester United of course.

Here’s how each player performed with a rating out of 10:

Goalkeeper and Defence

David De Gea: 6

De Gea made a couple of important saves but ultimately had very little to do. He could’ve potentially done better with Leeds’ first goal.

Luke Shaw: 6

Shaw registered an assist with an excellent corner delivery. The left-back also kept Daniel James’ threat to a minimum so deserves some plaudits for his performance today.
