Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad

Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad | RO32 Second Leg (4-0) | Europa League
Dean Henderson: 6
Sociedad had one shot and target which hints at the kind of night it was for Henderson. While not many direct saves to make he command his box well.
Defence
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 6
Solid 45 minutes of football from the right-back, once again keeping the threat of Oyarzabal well under wraps.
Victor Lindelof: 8
Tonight was Lindelof’s most dominant performance in a while. Alongside Bailly he was the calm and assured Iceman again, the Swede even looked a physical threat when he clattered knee first into the opposition defender’s head.

Bailly has a typical Bailly performance. He doesn’t play often but when he does his performance suggests he shouldn’t be dropped. Pace, strength and superior technique in the box sums up his performance.
Alex Telles: 6
Januzaj caused him some issues defensively but Telles grew into the game putting in some decent balls into the box.
Midfield
Nemanja Matic: 7
The Serbian midfielder dictated play for large parts of the game. At times he even broke through the blocks to create chances in the final third which really rolled back the years.
Fred: 6
Another player that didn’t feature for the full 90 minutes due to being saved for the weekend, Fred didn’t really affect the game.

The skipper on the night almost scored a beauty but was denied by the bar from 20 yards out. The drop off in performance in the midfield was evident when he was withdrawn at half time.
Attack
Daniel James: 4
His performance didn’t follow the precedent he’s set in recent games. Nothing came off for him and he gave away an early penalty. Not a great night for the Welsh winger.

A much more positive performance than we’ve seen from the Frenchman in recent weeks. He held the ball better looked hungrier to score goals. Hopefully it continues and bears fruit soon.
Mason Greenwood: 6
Greenwood has a couple chances to score but didn’t take them. Despite changing position to deeper secondary striker he still failed to get into the game.
