Player Ratings: Manchester United 0-0 Watford

Manchester United 0-0 Watford | Premier League
Manchester United are held at home by relegation battling Watford despite a dominating display.
Cristiano Ronaldo hitting the woodwork early on, provided a promise of United making easy work of the Hornets and going on to earn a huge three points. However, the Ronaldo hitting the woodwork foreshadowed the rest of the game, so close but not quite enough. The likes of Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Elanga had clear cut chances to take the game but fluffed their respective lines. The draw feels more like a loss as it puts a dent in United’s top four ambitions.
Goalkeeper and defence

The Spaniard had very little to do which reflects the feel of the game as a whole.
Alex Telles: 5
Telles played relatively well, his attacking display resulted in a number of chances that forwards were unable to convert.
Raphael Varane: 6
Varane was solid and relatively unfazed at the back.
Victor Lindelof: 6
Equally, Lindelof defended well in a display that earned United the clean sheet.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 5
Wan-Bissaka appears to be regaining some form. However, his attacking ability still needs considerable improvement.

Fred worked well in the midfield, providing United with plenty of energy and regaining possession on multiple occasions.
Nemanja Matic: 8
This was a good performance from Matic. His passing was generally accurate, whilst his defensive contributions allowed United to control the midfield for the majority of the game.
Paul Pogba: 6
Pogba played well. However, he was unable to find the killer pass/shot to sway the game in United’s favour.

Bruno certainly created many chances for United, however, he also missed a few himself.
Cristiano Ronaldo: 5
Another sub-standard performance from Ronaldo today. He lost the ball a few times, and his instinctive finishing was missing.
Anthony Elanga: 7
Elanga was excellent. He looked like a constant threat on the ball and created some great opportunities.
Substitutes

Sancho was arguably United’s most dangerous attacker upon coming on. He looked extremely comfortable on the ball and was constantly looking to provide a clinical pass/cross.
Marcus Rashford: 5
Rashford did nothing to influence the game.
Luke Shaw: 6
Although he had little time, Shaw delivered plenty of crosses into the box for United.
