Player Ratings: Manchester United 1-0 West Ham

Manchester United 1-0 West Ham | Premier League | Player Ratings
Dean Henderson: 6
Henderson was less involved in the game than he was during midweek but was steady when called upon.
Defence
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 5
The right-back had an awful start to the game. Wan-Bissaka gave the ball away cheaply on a number of occasions. He did however grow into the game as the night wore getting involved in some quality link-up play on the right-hand side.
Victor Lindelof: 7
The Swede had a strong showing at centre-back. Lindelof was tested by the raw power of Michail Antonio, but in an almost unlikely fashion kept the forward quiet, getting better of him physically at times also.

Including Antonio, West Ham have a number of aerial threats but Maguire dominated the backline. His last-ditch blocks were important as well as United picked up a fourth consecutive clean sheet.
Luke Shaw: 7
At times Shaw was United’s only outlet offensively. From the first minute, he was a threat on the left-hand side. He was so dangerous Coufal had to be switched with the much sharper Ben Johnson to deal with that channel.
Midfield
Scott McTominay: 6
The Scottish international was very safe on the ball not willing to really impact things going forward. Defensively he gave away some silly fouls, sillier considering the Hammers’ threat from set plays.
Fred: 6
There was one occasion where Fred played a decisive all into midfield that yielded a Mason Greenwood shot, unfortunately, that sort of pass was lent played often enough. He misplaced or overhit a number of passes.

The own goal, having shaved off Scott McTominay’s head before being glanced in by Shane Dawson stole what would’ve been a much-deserved goal contribution from Fernandes. It was a great midfield performance, full of desire while also creating some chances.
Attack
Marcus Rashford: 7
For someone who was a doubt before the game, Rashford was excellent. He combined well with Shaw on that left-hand side and was scintillating on the counter at times.

By far Mason Greenwood’s best performance in a while. It was full of confidence and enjoyment but lacked a goal. As a number nine held the ball up well and brought others into the game, a complete performance.
Daniel James: 6
A lack of quality but bundles and bundles of energy sums up Daniel James’ performance.
