Player Ratings: Manchester United 2-0 Nottingham Forest
Manchester United have booked a spot at Wembley after beating Nottingham Forest 5-0 on aggregate to make the Carabao Cup final.
A two-nil victory at Old Trafford was enough to secure the victory. The game itself didn’t really burst into life until the second half where the match was won in a matter of minutes. On the 63rd minute mark, Marcus Rashford was introduced alongside Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho who made their returns to the squad. At minute 76, the Old Trafford faithful had seen a fortuitous goal for Martial and a well worked Fred goal. In truth, it was as though United didn’t need to break a sweat to ensure safe passage to the final.
Here’s how each player performed with a rating out of 10:
Goalkeeper & Defence
Tom Heaton: 6
Heaton was largely untested for the game but when he was called upon, United’s backup keeper came out with a superb stop to earn the clean sheet.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 7
The right-backs performances is further evidence of Erik ten Hag’s impact at the club. Wan-Bissaka seems very comfortable with the role being demanded of him at the moment which is a real positive.
Raphael Varane: 7
A calm, assured and technically sound performance from the Frenchman. A real asset on that side, his assurity on the ball was also infectious on that side of the pitch.

Another solid performance from Martinez. One of his notable positives was his desire to cover for his teammates when he needed to.
Luke Shaw: 7
Shaw was back in the lineup like he never left, a constant outlet on the left hand side, showing once again how important he is to the style of football Ten Hag wants to play.
Midfield
Casemiro: 8
You can only marvel at Casemiro’s performances in recent months. If you have United fans hand pick the attributes they wanted from a defensive midfielder after years without anything of the like – you’d end up with Casemiro. A top performance, yet again.
Fred: 7
He may not have known much about the goal he scored but Fred, despite a few lapses in concentration was just what United needed in a game like this.

Frenandes is often criticised for his eagerness to chip in with the Hollywood pas. However, when it works he’s a joy to watch. The Portuguese excelled ain all parts of the game tonight.
Attack
Antony: 6
The Brazilian was frustrating at times, but in the same breath contributed to a lot of the goodthings United did in the game. Wout Weghorst was starved of the ball and the wingers have to take some kind of responsibility for that.

The lack of service meant that we barely saw Weghorst throughout the game. With the wide players reluctant to whip in a ball into the box it meant that his presence was largely wasted anyway.
Alejandro Garnacho: 6
The best way we can describe Garnacho’s game is that he was very involved. There was some moments of magic and tonnes of effort with that final ball lacking. Saying that, there were no major concerns.
