Cristiano Ronaldo puts three past Tottenham Hotspur as Manchester United bounce back from their Derby-day woes.

Here’s how each player performed with a rating out of 10:

Goalkeeper and defence

David De Gea: 5

Fairly average performance. He couldn’t do much about the penalty of Maguire’s deflected own goal.

Alex Telles: 6

Telles put in a top performance, aside from his handball to concede the penalty. He worked tirelessly up and down the wing and defended excellently.

Harry Maguire: 5

Aside from his accidental own goal, Maguire did okay. United’s captain effectively nullified Kane on multiple occasions and generally kept the Spurs attack quiet.

Raphael Varane: 5

Another professional display from Varane. He didn’t put a foot wrong and was not at fault for either goal.

Diogo Dalot: 6

Solid performance from Dalot. He was strong defensively and shut down Spurs’ left-hand side, for the most part. His positioning is clearly one of his strongest attributes.

Fred: 8

This was one of Fred’s best performances all season. His distribution was second to none, and he broke up Tottenham’s midfield play very effectively. Additionally, his dribbling/carrying of the ball was top-class.

Nemanja Matic: 6

Matic put in a good performance- he disrupted several Spurs attacks with his reading of the game and interceptions.

Paul Pogba: 7

Pogba, despite losing possession of the ball on a few occasions, shone today. His hold-up play was generally very strong, and his link-up with United’s attack was a joy to watch.

Marcus Rashford: 4

Despite his best efforts, Rashford really didn’t turn up today. He couldn’t seem to get into the game and was ultimately substituted.

Cristiano Ronaldo: 10

His best display in a red shirt since returning. Cristiano bagged a fantastic hat-trick, with three great finishes. Notably, his first goal was an absolute rocket from way outside the area. Additionally, he scored a proper striker’s poacher goal for his second and completed his 3rd with a powerhouse header to win United the game.

Jadon Sancho: 7

Sancho impresses every week. He is so confident on the ball and can take opposition defenders on with ease. He also registered an assist for Ronaldo’s second. He looks like a constant threat.

Anthony Elanga: 6

Elanga worked hard but didn’t have a direct impact.

Edison Cavani: 6

Similarly, Cavani helped United close out the game by tracking the Spurs players and defending well.

Victor Lindelof: 6

Lindelof didn’t play long enough to be extensively assessed.
