Manchester United vs Tottenham Harry Maguire Luke Shaw

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur 1-6 | Premier League | Player Ratings

David De Gea: 4

The Spaniard wasn’t at fault for any of the 6 conceded. But he did concede 6.

Defence

Aaron Wan Bissaka: 4

Aaron Wan Bissaka’s powers in defence seem to have wained. Offensively we know he provides very little but his concentration for the second was woeful.

Eric Bailly: 5

Eric Bailly has been excellent recently but like the rest of our defence tonight he wasn’t good. On the ball he isn’t as confident as Maguire or Lindelof and that showed with the third goal. Terrible decision making.

Harry Maguire: 1

Harry Maguire’s performance set the tone for Manchester United’s whole evening with a shaky start. For the man with the armband to put in soft headed passes, to lose concentration and be totally useless is a joke. He and the club really need to asses his position as both captain and centre back.

Luke Shaw: 3

Shaw was positionally poor and his night was summed up by his petulant tackle on Lucas Maura in the closing stages.

Midfield

Nemanja Matic: 5

Matic was over run in midfield a lot but I felt he was involved in all of the good stuff we tried going forward.

Paul Pogba: 3

Pogba’s first half performance wasn’t perfect but himself and Greenwood led the team. In the second half, Pogba’s showing was unacceptable. His tackling and positioning was all over the place. Pogba is another one that needs a reality check.

Bruno Fernandes: 3

Bruno scored our only goal of the day, other than that did very little and was substituted at half time.

Attack

Marcus Rashford: 5

A lot of effort in Rashford’s performance, he was ultimately let down by his teammates.

Mason Greenwood: 5

Greenwood was huge in carrying and maintaining possession. But like Rashford, service was minimal and his performance was dragged down by the rest of the team.

Anthony Martial: 2

A lapse of foolishness stopped the team getting back in the tie. At 2-1 down, he really needed to keep his head but he game in Lamela’s tricks and saw red. To be fair Lamela’s behaviour was disgraceful to go down so easily.

Substitutes

Fred: 6

Scott McTominay: 6

Donny van de Beek: 6
