Player Ratings : Newcastle United VS Manchester United
David De Gea: 6
Had hardly anything to do, should’ve done better for the goal in my opinion, a little far off his line. Average.
Diogo Dalot: 6
Defensively Dalot wasn’t great and went off with another injury.
Axel Tuanzebe: 9
Tuanzebe was by far the best player on the pitch for both teams. A high rating as he was the only bright spark in another abysmal performance.
Harry Maguire: 7
Harry Maguire really should of made it 1-0 before the break and that chance did come back to haunt us. Maguire did recover for the Almiron chance.
Ashley Young: 6
The Manchester United captain today had countless opportunities to move the ball into dangerous areas. Sub par performance.
Fred: 3
Poor pass accuracy and poor ball retention. All energy no output. Really not at the level to be a United player. Whatever that means now.
Scott McTominay: 6
McTominay was our best midfielder. While the effort was there there was also a quality in his passing. Not a great performance but not terrible.
Juan Mata: 5
Played very deep and was virtually anonymous in the first half, nothing changed in the second and he was taken off. Disappointing.
Daniel James: 5
Again a lot of effort from James and he put the ball in dangerous areas but was starved from possession in all honesty.
Andreas Pereira: 5
He was on the ball a lot… that’s about it really!
Marcus Rashford: 3
Whether he was carrying an injury or not, Rashfords desire was inexcusable in the first half, His body language told me he would rather be somewhere else. He doesn’t seem to be at it at the moment. Going on international duty won’t do him any good, I expect his poor form to continue.
Substitutes
Marcos Rojo: 6
Replaced an injured Diogo Dalot and didn’t really get on the ball to impact the game or help defensively, a real passenger in all honesty.
Mason Greenwood: 6
Mason Greenwood came on for Juan Mata, I don’t know what his tactical instructions were and by the looks of it neither did he. Seems like he was told to run around for a bit and see if he gets on the ball. Poor from the manager.
