Player Ratings: Sevilla vs Manchester United

Sevilla vs Manchester United 2-1| Player Ratings | Europa League

David De Gea: 6

De Gea’s inclusion was a surprise but I felt he was not at fault any of the goals.

Defence

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 3

Aaron Wan Bissaka with defensive errors cost us this game. He was missing in action for the first goal and for the second he was asleep allowing the winner. Poor end to the season for someone who started it so promisingly.

Victor Lindelof: 4

Overall Lindelof has a solid showing. But along with Wan Bissaka, his lack of focus allowed meant that De Jong could slip in front of Wan Bissaka. The only time he stood up to be counted was when he was arguing with Bruno Fernandes.

Harry Maguire: 5

The first goal, Muguire had undoubtedly a role to play. He really should’ve busted a gut to get across and stop the cross. On top of that his leadership was lacking. Goals conceded and and missed chances needs a captain to grab the game by the neck, but he didn’t.

Brandon Williams: 5

Like Maguire other than the goals he had a decent game. He made some good tackles defensively under the onslaught from the marauding Sevilla full backs. But for the second goal especially, he doesn’t do enough to stop the cross.

Midfield

Fred: 6.5

Fred had a good game. He came in to replace Matic in the holding role and looked brilliant. He moved the ball quickly and made good passes. If he could perform like that more consistently he will really be making the role his own.

Paul Pogba: 6.5

Pogba is another one that had a positive game. He gave the ball away quite a bit but his overall play was integral in everything positive we did tonight.

Bruno Fernandes: 7

Our best player. Simple as that. For all the stick he’s got recently, he really stuck his chest out and performed. And another well taken penalty to grind our rivals’ gears.

Attack

Marcus Rashford: 3

The less said about his overall performance the better.

Anthony Martial: 6.5

Martial missed a lot of chances that in reality he should’ve put away. However, he had a positive game and for me shouldn’t shoulder the blame of this result.

Mason Greenwood: 6.5

Again, a good showing from Greenwood. In all honesty there isn’t much he could’ve of done more. He didn’t really have any clear chances on goal and he linked well with his teammates.
