Player Ratings : Sheffield United VS Manchester United

David De Gea: 7

Individually, today was a vintage David De Gea performance. The double save early on in the first half set the precedent for the rest of his individual performance. In my opinion he wasn’t to blame for any of the goals.

Aaron Wan Bissaka: 4

AWB got the run around at Bramall Lane. From start to finish he didn’t seem to have that assuredness he usually shows. The right wing back position really does not suit him.

Victor Lindelof: 4

Victor Lindelof was all over the place defensively and I think that played a part in Wan Bissaka looking poor. On the ball, driving into midfield he is second to none but 1v1 defensive play he looked week and not up for the fight.

Harry Maguire: 5

Harry Maguire, as opposed to Lindelof, didn’t put a foot wrong all game in my opinion, he was just unfortunate to be part of a side that was terrible defensively.

Phil Jones: 2

Phil Jones still gets games for Manchester United, let that sink in for a moment…

Brandon Williams: 7

Brandon Williams deserves great credit today. In an intimidating atmosphere, he seemed to let it get to him in the first half and he was bullied a little. But he really stepped up, scored the goal and showed his character. He began our comeback, hats off to him.

Fred: 6

Fred was our best midfielder even though we were only playing 2. He was swarmed at times but in the last half an hour he showed the form he displayed against Brighton.

Andreas Pereira: 3

In total contrast to Fred, Pereira was shocking. His dithering on the ball allowed for the loss of possession to Sheffield United for their second goal. Perhaps he was the biggest victim of the change in system but there is no excuse for such a lacklustre performance.

Daniel James: 7

In the last half an hour when we actually pushed forward we saw the truer reflections of our front three’s ability. Prior to that they were starved of possession and when the likes of James did have it he was sloppy. James’ assist was superb for Rashford to slot away the third.

Marcus Rashford: 7.5

Marcus Rashford was superb as soon as the whistle blew for the second half, the only one who looked up for it early on. His goal scoring form has continued into his performance today, 6 in 6 and a brilliant assist for Mason Greenwood.

Anthony Martial: 5

Martial suffered from a dismal 70 minutes from Manchester United. He was barely on the ball to magic up chances in his usual style and was handed by the physical Sheffield United defence. He’ll be frustrated with his performance no doubt.
