David De Gea: 6

De Gea made a few good saves at his near post and stood no chance with the first goal as it was tucked firmly in the corner. However, the freekick has led to speculation that he perhaps should’ve done better and after not a bad day at the office but not an amazing one, De Gea, in my opinion, gets a rating of 6.

Aaron Wan Bissaka: 8

Its just routine now to see the young English man having a good game every week in a red shirt. He tracked back and made some superb challenges as he continues to be one of the only bright stars in the United side.

Victor Lindelof: 6

A very average game again for Lindelof, this time he was not at fault for any heading mistakes. The highlight of his game was Mourinho analysing his physical presence in the air just as it cuts to a clip of a ball going over his head in the warm up…

Harry Maguire: 5

Maguire’s first poor game for the Reds. He was asleep for the first goal. Maguire also had the chance to reduce the deficit but a poor finish meant the ball was smothered by Fabianski.

Ashley Young: 6

Again, a very average performance. Young made some good runs going forward but that allowed too much room for Yarmolenko to get in behind and he was unable to track back quickly.

Nemanja Matic: 4

Matic looked slow and was probably saved by being brought off in the second half. Matic’s days at Manchester United are numbered if he carries on with these performances.

Scott McTominay: 5

McTominay was second best numerous times against the Hammers. However, despite the poor performance he continued to run, and at least he always looks like he wants the best result for the team, a quality some United players could do to learn.

Andreas Pereira: 6

Similar to McTominay, Pereira looked as if he had the desire for United to win this afternoon. He made some promising runs forward and was the player who supplied the cross for Mata early in the second half.

Juan Mata: 5

Only Juan Mata will know how he managed to miss the target from 2 yards out at the back post…

Daniel James: 6

James’s form, unfortunately, didn’t carry into this game as he was very limited in what he brought to the table. He’s still just a young kid and this showed today, but he didn’t have a bad game… just not a good one.

Marcus Rashford: 5

Rashford looked poor from start to finish, he seemed to lack confidence and didn’t put in a match-winning performance that United need. His frustrations showed as he left the pitch with a groin injury as he seemed not only in clear discomfort but annoyed at himself.
