Manchester United maintain their unbeaten run with a win at the Molineux. Goals from 19-year-old Anthony Elanga and Juan Mata bring United’s Premier League season to a positive close.

Dean Henderson: 6

Remained unchallenged directly for the duration of the game, very little he could’ve done for the conceded goal.

Defence

Brandon Williams: 6

A positive display from the young fullback. There was some hesitation in his attacking play but as the game grew so did his confidence.

Eric Bailly: 7

The Ivorian was solid in defence, there were a few wary moments on the ball but he dominated in the air and was more than a match for Fabio Silva in a foot race.

Axel Tuanzebe: 7

Another advert for the young centre half to start in the European final. His blocks were essential and unlike Bailly was more assured on the ball.

Alex Telles: 6

Telles started the game with great confidence with a brilliant pass early on to put Anthony Elang through and was unlucky not to earn an assist for it. During the game his defensive prowess was definitely tested.

Midfield

Nemanja Matic: 7

Showed his experience with a calming effect on the youth around him. He ensured defensive cover to the likes of Telles and also completed some important dribbles going forward.

Donny van de Beek: 7

For many, it was the Dutchman’s best performance in red. Unlike in recent games, he showed a willingness to take the ball and keep it to make things happen rather than opting for the easy pass. His performance was filled with neat touches and trickery. The penalty that he won ensured the win for United.

Juan Mata: 7

The veteran probably played his final minutes as a Manchester United player, he will have no doubts over what could be his final performance for the club. He was tidy with his touches and allowed for the fluidity in forward areas. The Spaniard’s penalty was also well taken, with a poignant celebration to commemorate the passing of his mother.

Attack

Anthony Elanga: 7

The 19-year-old could have had three tonight. His movement and runs in behind were a constant threat to the Wolves backline. His goal was well taken.

Amad: 7

From his dribbling to the way he occupied space as a false nine, Amad oozed quality. For someone so young to perform in such a way in that specific role shows he’s destined for big things should all go swimmingly.

Daniel James: 6

The Welsh winger’s highlight was most definitely the cross that was inch-perfect for Elanga’s head to meet with a finish. Other than that he drifted in and out of the game. His finish for the chance he had on a plate was embarrassing.
