Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has defended international teammate Paul Pogba and reveals it’s a ‘pleasure’ to play alongside him.

Pogba admitted that he is in the most difficult period of his career recently, with the 27-year-old’s poor form for United, resulting in the £89 million pound star not being a guaranteed starter at Old Trafford.

There has been much discussion about where Pogba’s best position is, with even France manager, Didier Deschamps getting involved with the debate.

However, Kante insists that his partnership with Pogba is as good as ever.

Incredibly, N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba are unbeaten in the 26 matches that they’ve started together for France.

“Yes, it is true, with Paul it has been a little while he’s been injured, a little while since I played with him,” he told TF1. “We all remember the World Cup, that whole adventure we did together, the qualifications stage and the competition, and it is a pleasure again to be playing with Paul in the national team.

“Against Portugal we had a good game and we are all satisfied with our performance.”

With Pogba’s inconsistent and poor start to the season for United, let’s hope that he can build on some solid international performances and regain his form.
