Ralf Rangnick has confirmed his plans to integrate Hannibal Mejbri into Manchester United’s first-team squad.

The Tunisian international has been a highly regarded prospect at United since the club signed him in 2019.

Since completing his move from Monaco to Manchester at 16 years old, Mejbri has risen through the ranks making his first-team debut in May 2021.

Mejbri is now set for more extended involvement with the first team after Rangnick told the press:

“We have Hannibal included in the squad. He will, from now on, regularly train with us and be a regular member of the squad.

“He will also be part of the squad for tomorrow’s cup game.”

It has also been suggested that Rangnick has been a long time admirer of the 19-year-old. The German had attempted to sign Mejbri during his time at RB Leipzig, but his attempts were pipped by the mighty draw of United.

Rangnick has provided opportunities for the likes of Anthony Elanga, Zidane Iqbal, Charlie Savage and Shola Shoretire. However, Mejbri’s international commitments have meant that United’s interim boss has been unable to call upon the Tunisian.

“I saw him [Hannibal] play in the [Arab Cup] final and, from what I’ve seen so far, I think he’s a promising talent.

“He deserves to be part of the group for the rest of the season and also part of the group for tomorrow’s game.”

United host Middlesbrough in the FA Cup 4th round, so fans can look forward to Mejbri’s involvement on Friday night.
