Solskjaer : ‘Zlatan has my number’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer jokingly admitted that ‘ Zlatan has my number’ when asked about a possible return for the Swede.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer from PSG. The then 34-year-old lived up to his own hype making 53 appearances and in that time scoring 29 goals. He was also part of Jose Mourinho’s “treble” of the Community Shield, League cup and Europa League. His time at Manchester United came to an end shortly after penning a new deal. The centre forward failed to fully recover from an ACL injury that ruled him out of the Europa league final.

In an interview with the SUN the self proclaimed “Lion” said that “he could easily play in the premier league” after scoring 44 in 49 for MLS outfit LA Galaxy. Zlatan added “if United needs me I’m here”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was pressed about the Swede’s remarks this morning saying; “Who knows?” He said before joking that “I’ll always speak to Zlatan”. However the Manchester United manager was did confirm that Zlatan had “had his time here [at Manchester United]” and that he was sure the now 37-year-old was “joking”.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also confirmed news of Chris Smalling’s departure in a loan move. “We [him and Smalling] sat down yesterday and discussed it [loan]. We have six fit centre-backs and I couldn’t promise Chris regular football. I think he will enjoy the experience. I’m sure he’ll come back stronger for it.”
