“This Guy Is Ridiculous”: Mctominay Names French Teammate As One Of His Idols Growing Up

Scott Mctominay has named Paul Pogba as one of his midfield idols growing up.

In an interview with Pro:Direct Soccer the Scottish midfielder revealed that his now teammate Paul Pogba was somebody he used to watch closely during the Frenchman’s stint at Juventus. The 23-year-old said:

“I remember watching Pogba when he was at Juventus and I was in the reserves at Manchester United, and I was like ‘this guy is ridiculous’. People don’t know him for who he is, and he’s very misunderstood.”

Mctominay even came to the defence of the World Cup winner: “Obviously he can have a bad game, everyone can have a bad game, but because it’s Paul Pogba, it’s magnified to a different level.

“Whenever he plays well, he’s up there with the very best. Top class”

The Scotsman also praised his other midfield teammates, claiming that with the likes of Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek and Fred’ the midfield “is up there with the very best”.
